Call for Nursing Alumni Award Nominations

The School of Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomes your nominations for Alumni Awards. The awards will be given at the School of Nursing Reunion Brunch on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. As you submit names for consideration for the awards listed below, please include a statement on each nominee and why you believe that person should be honored. The deadline for submission is Friday, July 31, 2009

The Alumni Award for Excellence in Nursing is presented to a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing who is a national or international leader in nursing issues. The honoree is chosen from nominations made by alumni and colleagues by an award committee of the Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The Alumni Award for Clinical Achievement in Nursing is presented to a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing for proficiency in clinical, patient-centered practice. The honoree is chosen by the Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors from nominations made by alumni and colleagues.

The President's Award of Distinction is presented to graduates of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing who are recognized for distinguished contributions to nursing and to their communities. The honorees are recommended by the president of the Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The Friend of Nursing Award recognizes significant local/national contributions to the profession of nursing from an individual who is not a nurse or Vanderbilt University School of Nursing alumnus. The honoree is chosen by the Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors from nominations made by alumni and colleagues.

Honorary Alumnus is awarded by the Vanderbilt School of Nursing Alumni Association in recognition of significant contributions to the School of Nursing by an individual whose academic credentials were obtained elsewhere. The honorees are chosen by the Nursing Alumni Association Board of Directors from nominations made by alumni and colleagues.
