$30 Women's Health Exams and Pap Tests Offered at Vine Hill Community Clinic (10/09/08)Nashville, TN -- University Community Health Services, in conjunction with Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, will offer $30 women's health exams including Pap Tests on Saturday, Nov. 1, compared to the typical exams which cost $250 in addition to Pap Test fees.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 187,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and nearly 12,000 are diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Annual women's health exams are an important way to check for signs of breast cancer, cervical cancer, HPV infection, sexually transmitted diseases and more. The special event at Vine Hill Community Clinic removes financial barriers to receiving high-quality preventive health care.
Vine Hill Community Clinic will have eight Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners ready to examine up to 100 women throughout the day. Those interested are encouraged to call (615) 383-VINE to reserve an appointment time.
Copays are due at the time of service. TennCare customers will have exam and lab fees covered. Insured women will have the costs billed to insurance. Some women age 40-64 may qualify for a free exam and Pap Test under certain federal guidelines.
Vine Hill Community is located at 601 Benton Ave., near the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
