Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Intensivist Specialty Program
Pre-requisites
Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Certification at the provider or instructor level, through the Society of Critical Care Medicine, is a mandatory pre-requisite for N342B, N396H, N343C and N396I. Student who enter the program without certification will be required to obtain the certification prior to those classes. Student who do not obtain certification, will not be eligible to register for those classes. FCCS certification can be obtained at Vanderbilt through the Division of Critical Care Anesthesiology (link to http://www.vandydreamteam.com/fccs) through the School of Medicine.
Course location
Some aspects of this program are offered in a modified (block) learning format, which combines modified course delivery methods and weekend on-campus experiences. The AG-ACNP Intensivist program didactic, simulation, and clinical ICU rotations (342B, 396H, 343C and 391I) are only available on Vanderbilt campus and do not utilize a block format.
