Educational Formats

If you are:

  • A student without a nursing background, you are required to enroll full-time, attend classes on campus and live within daily commuting distance of Nashville during the first year you are enrolled. During your specialty year, classes will be in a hybrid format allowing you to take classes face-to-face and in your home state.
  • A registered nurse with a BSN or MSN, you will enter the program into the specialty year and learn via the hybrid course format as described above.

If you are:

  • A full-time student, you are required to attending face-to face class sessions throughout the academic year despite the geographical location of your home residence. Full-time students travel ten times during the academic year. During this travel, students attend three to five days of face-to-face class sessions.
  • A part-time student, during your first year of your specialty courses, you are only required to attend the School orientation in August and the orientations for any classes that you are taking that semester. During your second semester, you are required to attend face-to-face class sessions as described above for the full-time student.
