Bio
Professor Melissa Davis joined the VUSN faculty in January, 2006. She has varied clinical experience including private primary care practice, urgent care, and full-scope midwifery care. Her current interests include hypertension and stroke in pregnancy, vaginal birth after cesarean, chorioamnionitis infection rates, obesity, and newborn care.
She is a clinical instructor and teaches in the Master's level Nurse-Midwifery and Family-Nurse Practitioner Specialties.
She currently works as the Clinical Practice Director for the faculty practice at West End Women's Health Center and Vanderbilt Midwives & Primary Care at Melrose. She practices full-scope midwifery at the clinics and Vanderbilt Medical Center. She also provides urgent care as a family nurse practitioner at the Vanderbilt Walk-In Clinics on an as-needed basis.
Melissa completed her MSN at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and her Doctor or Nursing Practice degree at Samford University in Birmingham, AL.
