Susan Andrews DNP, RN, CNE, CPN

Bio
Dr. Andrews is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at VUSN. With a clinical practice background in Pediatrics and Nursing Education she joined the faculty in 2010. Dr. Andrews is a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and holds a Certificate in Nursing Education. She has taught numerous courses in the prelicensure, master's and DNP programs and is currently the course coordinator for the Evidence Based Practice courses for the MN and prelicensure programs. Dr. Andrews oversees the Professional Nursing Role Integrated Core Course (ICC) curriculum. For the past 10 years Dr. Andrews has focused her scholarly work on global health and short-term medical mission trips in Ecuador and healthy work environment in nursing academia. She authored several journal articles primarily in the areas nursing education, global health, and pediatrics. Dr Andrews is a STTI Global Advocacy Scholar. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and is currently the Chair Elect for the Institute of Pediatric Nurses (IPN). She is treasurer for the STTI Iota at large Chapter. Dr. Andrews has served the Vanderbilt community on several school of nursing committees and currently represents the School of Nursing as a member of the Faculty Senate. In 2023, Dr. Andrews was awarded the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Service to Faculty and Students.
