The Nursing Informatics specialty at Vanderbilt prepares informatics nurse specialists to serve the profession of nursing by investigating, planning and managing the effective use of technology and information processing needs of care and management, and by leading nursing education forward through the use of information processing tools and technologies.

Online Class Schedule
You will complete your Nursing Informatics specialty program through a modified learning format that uses leading edge online and distance technology. Coursework and scholarly interaction take place online. Clinical practicums will occur at a site arranged and negotiated between the student, clinical agency, and Vanderbilt faculty.
Credentials and Certification
Graduation from the MSN program prepares you to sit for examination for the ANCC Nursing Informatics certification exam. Visit the ANCC site for specific information.
